Life is a chain of moments with joy and happiness

Yesterday I saw a comparison of GDP between India and China on a newspaper, I know the so called "GDP" for many years, but frankly speaking, I'm not aware of the meaning as well as  definition of this word.

Just for better understanding, today I spend sometime on this word, after complete reading several articles of "GDP", finally I got its idea. Generally, "GDP" is the market value of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period of time. we can simply consider it as a kind of measurement on wealth for a country.

Together with my understanding, I find a moving critique on "GDP" by Senator Robert Kennedy who was running for president of United State in 1968:

Gross Domestic Product[GDP] does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages, the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our courage, nor our wisdom, nor our devotion to our country. It measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile, and it can tell us everything about America except why we are pround that we are Americans.

As I can see from China, gov. was mainly foucs on the so called GDP from last decade, it guides peoples concentrate more and more on wealth and money, that's good, becasue it enables us to enjoy greter economic prosperity than our parents did. But on the other side, I insist that the society become hairbrained and sick more and more. it focus too much on money, on wealth.

Like Kennedy mentioned, life is not only GDP, not only products and services.

As I understand always, it's a chain of moments with joy and happiness.
